Description:

I am originally from England but have lived in South Africa for over 20 years. On a trip ‘home’ in 2018 I fell in love again with the wild flowers growing in the hedgerows and verges. This quilt is my interpretation of that summertime trip.

When thinking how best to display the flowers, I drew inspiration from porcelain plates and spent many hours looking at Dresden plates and enjoying the connection to quilting.

Needle turn applique, machine applique, thread sketching, free motion quilting, quilting using rulers and templates, embellished with hot fix glass crystals, piped and scalloped edge.
