Cynthia’s artistic journey began when she drove to CA in the mid-1970’s, and joined the art scene after graduating (Creative Arts) from UCSF. A $500 graduation gift paid for secondhand woodworking tools so she could make “pocket boxes” with toothpick hinges. Expanding into other products and designs, her work took off in recent years with quilt and fabric artists. She makes essentials — unique seam rippers, stilettos, rug/crochet hooks, and many other items used in textile arts and crafts. All have beautifully turned handles or bodies that exude color. She designed a popular “Magnetic Scissor Pendant” with a colorful, turned-wood sleeve to be worn around the neck on a silken cord, which is very useful, and quite lovely! Embroidery scissors fit inside. (Full story is on the website.)
