Description:

Now that I’m an empty nester, I have taken over our game room as my crafting/sewing room. It has blue walls and I have a gold armchair and accents so I wanted a throw quilt to put on my chair. I could not find a pattern I liked, so I just made my own. I learned how to use my embroidery machine on this quilt! I shopped for weeks trying to find a variety of coordinating yellow and blue fabrics and then I started cutting out hundreds of hexagons. I laid them out and just started sewing. I decided on a simple straight stitch around the inside of each hexagon for the quilting and then found a fun embroidery pattern to use around the border.
