Pewter
Pewter
Pieced & Quilted By:
Telene Jeffrey
Description:
While experimenting on different kinds of fabric I came across this foiled satin fabric. Once quilted with black thread it looked to me just like metal pewter work, hence the name. Design inspiration can from the 18th and 19th century architecture. Pewter is all free motion quilted with black thread on my domestic sewing machine with a double layer of cotton batting and an ice dyed backing fabric (by Debra Linker). The edge has been knife-turned and I’ve added a black and silver lace with beading to finish the piece of in a dramatic finish.
