Description:

As a scuba diver, I have been inspired by the beauty of the sea life down under and the movement of the water. I attempted to capture the movement of the water in stitching, change of color, in Inktense paints, the textures of the sea grass in metallic fibers, and the textures of the coral in beads. Added dimension was achieved through Trapunto sea turtles and natural Florida shells.

Techniques:

This quilt has a Northwood panel in pastel neutrals that is painted with Inktense paints, metallic crayon accents, domestic machine & hand quilting, thread painting, trapunto turtles, fibers, beads, and natural shells. The basic design was embellished to achieve, color, dimension and it is maximized by trapunto, fibers, beads and Florida sea shells.
